International Karate Friendship 2008

by Shane on April 2nd, 2008

image This coming weekend you can find some great Karate in Chiba. The International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan will host the following events on April 5th and 6th:

  • The 4th International Youth Karate Championships
  • 2008 Women’s World Karate Championships
  • 2008 International Senior Karate Championships
  • 2008 International Kata Championships

I’m not a huge fan of Karate but in checking out the details of this event I ran across the groups philosophy:

“Keep your head low (modesty), eyes high (ambition), mouth shut (serenity); base yourself on filial piety and benefit others.”

It’s a great philosophy for life in general, don’t you think?

Event Details (Event Website):

  • Dates: April 5 -6, 9AM-5PM
  • Location: Makuhari Messe Event Hall
  • Admission: FREE
  • Directions to Makuhari Messe: Take the Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station and get off at the Kahin Makuhari Station (about 30 minutes). There are signs in the station that will point you in the right direction from there.
