To me, over-fishing is the greatest threat to the global environment, because if the oceans die, all life on land dies with it. Japan Times just reported this Wednesday on the Bluefin tuna problem actually: http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fe20081008rh.html

YES, of course, Tsukiji and ALL fish-eaters are threats to the Bluefin tuna and all other fish.

To me, over-fishing is the greatest threat to the global environment, because if the oceans die, all life on land dies with it.

Japan Times just reported this Wednesday on the Bluefin tuna problem actually:

http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fe20081008rh.html

By: Alisha

I just read about Tsukiji's fish market and its threat to the Blue Fin. A 100k people in 10 sq km. It doesn't seem possible. There aren't really many highrise apartment buildings in that ward either right? I went to see the Sumida River fireworks once, several years ago. It was very strange to try and grab glimpses of fireworks in the narrow openings between tall buildings.

I’d really like to see a photo of what the Sumida River delta looked like before it was overrun with ludicrous luxury shops.

A 100k people in 10 sq km.
