As a new fan I was not aware that those first riders were purifying the track so thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment.

What a great memory Kenmore – it’s a great event to watch but to participate must have been amazing!

As a new fan I was not aware that those first riders were purifying the track so thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment.

By: kenmore McManes

Very nice and interesting. In 1952 my brother and I, after exensive lessons in riding and archery from Mr. Yurin Kaneko, were honored to ride in the Yabusame festival in Kamakura on May 4th of that year. We did not shoot but rather galloped down the track in full dress including our bow and arrows to purify the track. It was a once in a lifetime experience which we will never forget.

Very nice and interesting.
In 1952 my brother and I, after exensive lessons in riding and archery from Mr. Yurin Kaneko, were honored to ride in the Yabusame festival in Kamakura on May 4th of that year.
