Nihon on the Net

meishi exchange A cool article about meishi, the etiquette of business cards in Japan.  This is a must read if you are traveling to Japan on business and an interesting read even if you’re not.

On Thursday morning my hubby and I awoke to a 6.7 magnitude earthquake centered about 160 miles outside of Tokyo.  As I wrote on my personal blog, the experience was a bit nerve wracking.

The number of pets in Japan surpasses the number of children under the age of 15.

Lastly, the writers in the b5 travel and culture channel bring you some great photos from the cities that we write about.  Why don’t you do a little armchair traveling and check them out?

Or, check out all of the cocktails that we came up with in honor of World Cocktail Week.  Of course my favorite is the Sake Margarita!

One more on the etiquette of business cards — NEVER put someone’s card in your back pocket. It’s like sitting on their face.

Jon, the image that your comment brings to mind made me laugh! I have heard this before and it makes a certain amount of sense. Japan is a country of etiquette and these things really do matter.
